Quilted Throws as Wall Hangings

Not sure how to use quilted lap quilt throws as quilted wall hangings?

Lap quilts, also called throws, may be the most flexible of all of the handmade quilts. Lap quilts throws are usually 50x60 inches, a size that covers most people sitting in a chair. Ergo the name “lap quilt” and throw.

Over the years, I have found lap quilts throws also work well to quickly change a room decor when using them as a wall hanging. They are excellent in entryways, as focal points in a room or nursery, and as a welcome at the top, or bottom, of stairs.

When I want to change the decor, I remove Four Seasons Lap Quilt Throw Quilted Wall Hanging and thread a new one through the metal rod. For this season I am using the all cotton, Holiday Traditions Lap Quilt Throw Quilted Wall Hanging.

With a flick of a wrist, the entrance to my basement takes on a holiday theme.

These are excellent, all cotton imported throws that are soft to curl up with on a sofa or chair.

When not hanging, the little tabs on the back lie flat against the backing fabric, almost imperceptible to the eye. I have to gently move the rod down the top to even find them.

If you have a lap quilt throw without tabs, you can easily add those. There are also quilt hangars available that will easily hold the lap quilt throws as a wall hanging.
