When one is starting to make quilts,, the advice is usually don’t start with a wedding ring pattern. Known as one of the tougher patchwork quilting patterns, the double wedding ring quilt is a favorite gift, and home decor item, for most US brides.

We make double wedding ring quilts and have several available like this blue double wedding ring quilt but only our more experienced piecers tackled the very popular traditional wedding quilt pattern.

So it was with great delight that I found this custom handmade double wedding ring quilt with - what is it that the brides call them - I think it’s embellishments. Not only does this custom double wedding ring quilt have the difficulty of the wedding rings, but this custom wedding quilt includes a star where the rings cross.

The quilter has also made good use of the fabric colors, adding a pattern to the double wedding ring centers with just the cotton fabric selection.

We often feature handmade quilts than can also be wall hangings and I would be tempted to use this quilt on a wall to better appreciate all of the details.
